Mercenaria permagna

This fossil clam is from the Pleistocene period, part of the Nashua Formation.  They were collected out of the Ruck's Pit, Ft. Drum, Fl.
You get the exact specimen (pair) shown in the photos above.  This
Mercenaria permagna
is 11.4 cm long
.  Ruck's Pit is famous for its "Quahog" clams calcified and filled with calcite crystals.  This clam has not been calcified.  That would increase its value to to 0.  It is a very good and large representative of the species though.
