began his work as a painter/sculptor in the late '60s and early '70s, and continues to this day from his studio in Florence, Italy.  While some of his figurines date back to the early '70s, they became most well known in the '80s when singer-songwriter, arranger, musician, producer and actor,
Barry Manilow
displayed Bencini's "
Piano Player
" figurine on the album cover for "
Tryin' To Get The Feeling
".  See image 12.  Each Bencini ® figurine is individually hand crafted and signed i.e., no two are exactly alike. His rare combination of fantasy and humor finds expression in each of his sculptures. Art critics say that "

Condition
: There is a tiny chip in the jacket right lapel and the glaze has separated in a small oval area under the blanket as seen in image 11.  That said, there are no [other] chips, crazing, flaws, scuffs, scratches, stains, repairs, discoloration or any other cosmetic / structural issues. The platform is signed by the artist and certifies: "
Benacini (R) ~ Italy
".  The original "Fancifuls Inc." retail tag remains attached as well.  The text on the back of said tag is partially unreadable.  Reference image 10 for the complete text. The asking price has been reduced in consideration of the aforementioned flaws.
