This tradition will be perpetuated periodically with the creation of a new collection produced in a limited number edition. The pens of the Caran d'Ache Private Collection are true objects of art, created in the purest traditions of Geneva craftsmanship. The Caran d'Ache Private Collection represents a perfect synthesis of advanced technology and traditional craftsmanship.
    These exceptionally fine collectors' items are distinguished by meticulous attention to detail at every stage of production. Each pen must pass a rigorous battery of tests before being marked with its individual number. The 1994 private collections fountain pen is made entirely of metal, machined with fine guilloche patterns of continuous rings. Each figure in the pattern is separated by a very fine line engraved in the 23-carat rose gold plated metal.
    The sword-shaped clip, a symbol of nobility, is an exclusive feature of Caran d'Ache pens. It stands for the skill and know-how of the Caran d'Ache craftsman who have made Geneva a byword for excellence round the world. The pen is equipped with an 18-carat 750 hallmarked rose gold nib.
