    Description

    A pair of brass temple lanterns brought from Kyoto in Japan.
    Modern Japanese lanterns like this are wired for electricity. These were made to be illuminated with an oil wick or candle. The lamp on the right appears to have been under another lamp. There's soot on it's bottom and the outside front.
    These lanterns have their interior paper changed pretty regularly. These still have the paper that came when we brought them from Kyoto. To access the inside and change the paper, If that is what the buyer wants to do, the top unscrews.
    They're 12 1/2 inches tall to the top nipple. 14 inches tall to the top of the handle. They're 10 1/2 inches across the top and at the base. The body in eh middle is 7 inches across. They're just under 3 pounds each.
