Actor William Gillette [Sherlock Holmes] cabinet photo circa 1890. Gillette, famous in America for his starring role in the play "Sherlock Holmes," which he co-wrote, was photographed circa 1890 by the New York photographic studio Newsboy, which did a series of such photos of actors and actresses that were premiums sold with tobacco.  This specimen is in excellent condition.
